They display a special attraction to anything that smells or sound like human,it the biggest reason people ride animals. infected are super humanly fast and agile also very strong and can easliy jump over a 15ft fence. The infected are living humans infected with a rabies-like pathogen that makes them extreme aggression cause mutation to the body cells, and loss of higher brain functions. there leader is a older cowboy(the group has a mix of animals they use for rideing and the hero rides a camel) the hero was a veterinary technician before the fall and most of his team are people that could not find jobs in the new american (Office and Administrative people) and they took this job as a way to eat. they work for the goverment or towns killing the infected for goods and trade. Think of the zombie contract hunters as buffalo hunters like they had in the 1800's. The hero had a AK pistol before the fall(it was his plinking gun) with most of that stuff on there and the rest(Vertical Foregrip WeaponLight, surefire SOCOM Sound Suppressor) he stole/took along the way and the ruger is a Wilson Combat Custom in a old west Gunfighter Rig. So, most non-armed forces(the USA govement asked for all 5.56/223 ammo) in this story have something that pre-1970s tech were it comes to guns(few guns have working battery powered stuff on them) Lots of 1911,357/38 revolvers and stuff along those lines, there are AR's but most are in military personnel or U.S. Most of the guns and tech is stuff people made, had before the fall or things that could keep running after the fall(yes most people ride horses) Most of the guns i have in there are guns i would think are easy to gunsmith or make parts for like AK,1911, bolt actions,M14 ,revolvers you know anything that could be easy to build if you had limit parts for. It take place years after the fall of man and the rise of the infected. The story is has a more western/ fall of tech feel too it. Hence why a small case capacity/heavy projectile round is a lot safer to reload subsonically. A lot of people don't realise,if you don't have enough powder in your case its jut as dangerous as having too much powder. On a side note from what I've read the Russian 7.62x39mm round is a lot easier to make subsonic ammo out of than say a 308 as the case capacity is a lot smaller while the bullet weight is still pretty high. But all a suppressor does is decrease the decibel down by about 30db, you still get a crack from standard ammo as the projectile breaks the sound barrier. It out of the firearm and setup your describing it wouldn't be much use beyond 50m simply coz I'd seriously doubt you could get enough accuracy. The few animals I shot with it all died ! The funny thing is you get fantatic penetration using a subsonic standard hunting bullet as the bullet doesn't expand. I have shot subsonic ammo out of my 308 and it would have easily killed a zombie at 150m the trick however is to learn to compensate for bullet drop. ![]()
